Bored?

wp376 01 RG orange rhodie leaf 20220429 1200I like ritual. wp376 02 RG sorrel close 20220429 1200
I like routine. wp376 03 RG twisted trunk 20220429 1200
I can do the same basic thing over and over without getting bored. wp376 04 RG fern frond 20220429 1200
Every moment that passes means I am not the same person I was a second ago. And neither is anyone else. Or anything else, for that matter. wp376 05 RG wood path 20220429 1200
So when I take a walk on the same path I’ve travelled numerous times, everything is new. wp376 06 RG black millie w roots 20220429 1200
The millipede was traveling perpendicular to that root a moment ago, but is now elegantly parallel to it. wp376 08 RG pink trillium 20220429 1200
The trillium’s leaf was whole yesterday but now has a hole munched through its emerald skin. wp376 09 RG rotting wood trunk 20220429 1200
Tiny bits of redwood dust have just fallen from a decaying tree trunk as a pill bug emerged, creating a slightly different shape to the log. wp376 10 RG sorrel w trunk 20220429 1200
The sorrel has one less bloom because I just ate its lavender lusciousness. wp376 11 RG ferns w flowers 20220429 1200
I don’t go by the adage: If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. wp376 12 RG rhodie 20220429 1200
For if you look closely enough, almost everything is a tiny bit different from its seemingly clone-like counterpart, especially in nature. wp376 13 2 wood, fungus 1200
The next time you feel bored, just look around. You’re no longer the same “bored” person you were when you had that thought. Perhaps you’ll notice something you’ve looked at for years and see it in a new way. And if you don’t, that’s fine. Because by now you’re already somebody else.
