Who knew the path down to Elk’s beach would be so rife with flowers?
Probably everyone who regularly walks there!
But I’m just an occasional Elk walker, so I was surprised and delighted by the plethora of posies.
Some were wild
and some were planted long ago.
I met an elderly man about halfway down the trail.
We smiled. I flung out my arm in a slightly less graceful way than Vanna White might, as if I were presenting him the beauty.
He lifted the camera from around his neck in a gesture that meant: I know!
We never spoke.
We simply basked in the glory.
For sometimes basking is all that is required of us.
